Dr. Adam Zavodnick MD

Biography

Dr. Zavodnick has been in independent practice since 2016, passionately integrating medication management with evidence-based psychotherapies. He is a strong advocate of acceptance and commitment therapy.

During his undergraduate studies at NYU, Dr. Zavodnick volunteered as an EMT and later as a paramedic in Suffolk County.

While pursuing his MD at New York Medical College, he published research on the psychiatric manifestations of Celiac Disease, graduating in 2008.

Dr. Zavodnick completed an externship in psychiatry at the Zucker Hillside Hospital of Long Island Jewish before starting his formal psychiatric training at Carilion Clinic/Virginia Tech in Roanoke, Virginia. During his time in Virginia, he published two additional papers on lamotrigine and N-acetylcysteine.

Returning to New York, he completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry through Zucker Hillside/Northwell Health. Thereafter he served as interim medical director at the Garden City Treatment Center, the Far Rockaway Treatment Center, and Adult Recovery Services of Northwell 

Dr. Zavodnik later expanded his practice to include the management of substance misuse and obtained certification in addiction medicine health.

He is board-certified in Child, Adult, and Addiction Psychiatry.
