Lauren Murphy

Biography

Lauren Murphy, LMSW, earned her master's degree from the NYU Silver School. She has specialized training in eating disorders, Anxiety/OCD, DBT, and CBT. Lauren operates from the core belief that individuals need to be seen and empathically heard to begin the healing process. Her direct and candid approach helps her patients feel cared for and connected.

Lauren is a compassionate clinician who incorporates humor into her practice to create a warm and engaging environment. She is deeply committed to helping others, striving to foster healing and growth through understanding and empathy. Her approach combines evidence-based techniques with a lighthearted touch, making therapy both effective and enjoyable. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys traveling with family and friends, playing with her family’s Rhodesian Ridgeback, Finnegan, and reading a good book on the beach.

In addition to her private practice, Lauren is a member of the inpatient social work team at Mount Sinai Hospital. This role has made her highly proficient in all levels of psychiatric care, allowing her to navigate both medical and psychological issues effectively.

Lauren is also an active member of the NYU Phi Alpha Honor Society.
